CROWN CAST TERMS OF SERVICE

WELCOME TO CROWN CAST
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Crown Cast, a church presentation software application. By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using Crown Cast, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
Crown Cast is a desktop application designed for churches and religious organizations to:
• Display Bible verses, hymns, and song lyrics during worship services
• Present announcements, media, and custom slides
• Manage and organize worship service content
• Control presentations remotely from mobile devices on a local network
• Integrate with broadcasting software (such as OBS) for live streaming
Crown Cast is available for a one-time purchase of $400 for use by churches, ministries, and individuals for worship and educational purposes.
2. LICENSE GRANT
Subject to these Terms and upon completed purchase, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
• Download and install Crown Cast on multiple computers
• Use Crown Cast for worship services, religious gatherings, and related purposes
• Create, store, and display content through the application
• Export and backup your data
Single Campus License
Each Crown Cast license is valid for one physical campus or location only. You may install the software on multiple computers within that single campus (for example, in your main sanctuary, fellowship hall, youth room, etc.).
Multi-Campus and Satellite Locations
If your organization operates multiple campuses, satellite locations, or separate physical sites, each additional campus or location requires the purchase of a separate Crown Cast license at the full price of $400 per campus.
Restrictions
You may not:
• Use a single license across multiple campuses or satellite locations
• Sell, rent, lease, or sublicense Crown Cast
• Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the application (except as permitted by law)
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
• Use Crown Cast for any unlawful purpose
• Share your license with other organizations
3. PAYMENT AND REFUNDS
Purchase
Crown Cast is available for a one-time payment of $400 per campus. Upon completed payment, you will receive access to download and use the software at one physical location.
Refunds
Please contact us via email if you experience technical issues that prevent you from using the software. Refund requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
4. USER-GENERATED CONTENT
Your Content
Crown Cast allows you to create and import various types of content including songs, slides, media files, and service notes. You retain all ownership rights to content you create or import.
Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
• Ensuring you have the right to use any content you import (songs, images, videos, etc.)
• Complying with copyright and licensing requirements for song lyrics
• The accuracy and appropriateness of content you create
• Obtaining necessary permissions for copyrighted materials
Bible Translations
Crown Cast includes access to free Bible translations from various sources. Premium Bible translations accessed through API.Bible are subject to their respective terms. Some translations may have usage restrictions - please review applicable licenses.
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Crown Cast offers optional integration with third-party services:
API.Bible
• Provides access to 900+ Bible translations
• Requires you to obtain your own free API key
• Subject to API.Bible's terms of service and usage limits
• We are not responsible for API.Bible's availability or terms
OBS Studio
• Crown Cast can integrate with OBS for broadcasting
• OBS is third-party software with its own license
• We provide integration features but do not support OBS itself
You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the terms of any third-party services you choose to use.
6. REMOTE CONTROL FEATURE
Crown Cast includes a remote control feature for controlling presentations:
Acceptable Use
• Remote control operates on your local network only
• You are responsible for securing your local network
• Only pair devices you trust and control
• Remove paired devices when no longer needed
Security
We implement security measures (pairing codes, rate limiting). However, no system is completely secure. You accept responsibility for network security in your environment.
7. SOFTWARE UPDATES
Crown Cast may release updates to improve functionality and fix issues. Updates are included with your purchase at no additional cost. We may discontinue support for older versions at any time. Check the GitHub repository for the latest releases.
8. TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Community Support
Support is provided through GitHub Issues. Documentation is included with the application (README, FEATURES, guides). Response times are not guaranteed.
Self-Service
Comprehensive documentation is available within the application. Export/import features allow you to backup and restore data. Factory reset option available for troubleshooting.
9. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
CROWN CAST IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Implied warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or reliability of content
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
We do not warrant that Crown Cast will meet your specific requirements, that the application will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free, that any errors will be corrected, or that the application is free of viruses or harmful components.
10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CROWN CAST, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR:
• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
• Service interruptions
• Computer damage or system failures
• Cost of substitute services
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Crown Cast. This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, or otherwise), whether we were advised of the possibility of such damages, or whether the remedy fails of its essential purpose.
11. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Crown Cast and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
• Your use of Crown Cast
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights (including copyright)
• Content you create, import, or display through Crown Cast
12. CODE SIGNING NOTICE
Crown Cast is not code-signed with a Microsoft or Apple developer certificate. This means:
• Windows may display SmartScreen warnings
• macOS may require security override
• This is a cost consideration, not a security issue
• See WINDOWS_SECURITY.md for detailed guidance
The application is safe to use. These warnings relate to publisher verification, not malware detection.
13. TERMINATION
Your Rights
You may stop using Crown Cast at any time by uninstalling the application and deleting your local data.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to discontinue Crown Cast at any time, modify or remove features, and update these Terms (continued use constitutes acceptance).
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your license to use Crown Cast ends, you should delete copies of the application, and your locally stored data remains under your control.
14. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of Crown Cast after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using Crown Cast.
15. GENERAL PROVISIONS
Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Crown Cast regarding use of the application.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations at any time.
