CROWN CAST PRIVACY POLICY

INTRODUCTION
Crown Cast ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our church presentation software handles information when you use Crown Cast on your computer.
Our Core Privacy Principle: Crown Cast is designed with a privacy-first, local-only approach. Your data stays on your computer - we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information to external servers.
INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT
Crown Cast is intentionally designed to respect your privacy:
• No Telemetry - We do not track how you use the application
• No Analytics - We do not collect usage statistics or behavioral data
• No Cloud Sync - Your data is never uploaded to our servers
• No Account Required - You do not need to create an account to use Crown Cast
• No Third-Party Tracking - We do not share data with advertisers or marketing companies
INFORMATION STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE
Crown Cast stores the following information locally on your computer only:
User-Created Content
• Hymns and songs (including custom imports and edits)
• Bible versions you download
• Media files (images, videos, audio)
• Announcements and slides
• Whiteboard/custom slides
• Service notes and queue items
Application Settings
• Theme and display preferences
• Language settings (English/Spanish)
• Audio preferences
• Custom fonts you upload
• Broadcast and OBS integration settings
• Custom keyboard shortcuts
Operational Data
• Queue folders and organization
• Bible search history
• Recent activity within the app
• Paired remote control devices
Storage Location
Your data is stored using browser localStorage and IndexedDB (for the application interface) and the local file system at ~/.crowncast/ (for device pairing information).
REMOTE CONTROL FEATURE
Crown Cast includes a remote control feature that allows you to control presentations from other devices on your local network.
How It Works
• The remote server operates only on your local network (private IP ranges)
• A 6-digit pairing code is required to connect devices
• Pairing codes expire after 5 minutes for security
• Only devices you approve can connect
What Is Stored
• Device names and IDs for approved devices (stored locally in ~/.crowncast/paired-devices.json)
• No remote device data is transmitted outside your local network
Security Measures
• Rate limiting on connection attempts
• Input validation and sanitization
• IP-based connection limits
• Secure WebSocket connections within your network
OPTIONAL THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Crown Cast offers optional integrations that may involve external services.
API.Bible Integration (Optional)
If you choose to use premium Bible translations, you may obtain a free API key from API.Bible. This requires you to agree to API.Bible's own terms and privacy policy. Crown Cast does not control or have access to your API.Bible account.
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party services you choose to use.
DATA SECURITY
Local Security
• All data remains on your local device
• No transmission of personal data over the internet
• XSS protection and input sanitization built into the application
• HTML content is sanitized before display
• File uploads are validated for security
Network Security (Remote Feature)
• Remote connections restricted to local network only
• Pairing code authentication required
• Rate limiting prevents brute-force attempts
• Connection approval required for new devices
YOUR RIGHTS AND CONTROL
Because your data is stored locally, you have complete control:
Access Your Data
All your content is accessible directly through the Crown Cast application. Data files are stored in standard locations on your computer.
Export Your Data
Use the Export feature in Settings to create a complete backup. Export includes all songs, settings, and preferences.
Delete Your Data
Use the Factory Reset option to completely clear all application data. You can manually delete files from your computer at any time. Uninstalling Crown Cast removes the application (local data may persist in browser storage).
Data Portability
Export and import features allow you to move your data between computers. Backup files are in standard formats you control.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Crown Cast does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since all data is stored locally and no account creation is required, children can use Crown Cast under adult supervision without privacy concerns related to data collection.
UPDATES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Significant changes will be noted in the application's release notes.
